2027: Taraba APC endorses gov, Tinubu for second term

Taraba APC Endorses Governor Kefas and President Tinubu for 2027 Elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has officially endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term in the upcoming 2027 governorship election. This decision was announced by the outgoing Taraba State Working Committee (SWC) of the party.
In a press briefing on Monday in Jalingo, Alhaji Ibrahim El-Sudi, the state chairman of the APC, also affirmed support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the presidential race. He cited the leadership qualities demonstrated by both officials as pivotal to the party’s endorsement.
El-Sudi remarked that since joining the APC, Kefas has played a crucial role in solidifying the party’s presence and operations in the state. “The governor has not only embraced the party’s leadership but has also facilitated a smooth and peaceful transition, in stark contrast to challenges faced in some other states,” he stated.
Under kefas’s leadership, the party has conducted congresses across all 168 wards and 16 local government areas with minimal issues, according to El-Sudi. He credited a significant rally that welcomed Kefas into the APC—attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the national chairman, members of the National Working Committee, and over ten serving governors—as instrumental in fostering unity within the party.
Additionally, the APC successfully executed an electronic membership registration and revalidation initiative, making Taraba one of the top-performing states in the process. El-Sudi noted ongoing growth in membership registration across various council wards.
The chairman praised Kefas for spearheading fair and transparent party congresses, which he believes has reinforced internal democracy and unity among party members.
