2027: We’ll deliver landslide votes for Tinubu, Abba – Senator Barau
KANO – APC Stakeholders Commit to Support for Tinubu and State Leadership in 2027 Elections

Stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kano North Senatorial District have pledged their unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abba Yusuf, and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commitment was made during a meeting held on Saturday in Kano, convened by Senator Barau I. Jibrin. The gathering brought together party leaders, elected officials, and grassroots politicians to foster unity and devise strategies for the upcoming elections.
In a statement released by Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, Barau emphasized that the meeting aimed to strengthen internal cohesion and solidify Kano North’s position as an APC stronghold in Kano State.
“We are united and focused. Kano North will stand firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Our structure is intact, and we will work tirelessly to ensure their victories,” Barau declared.
He also announced the donation of 26 cars and 141 motorcycles to local government chairmen, vice-chairmen, councillors, and secretaries across 13 local government areas within Kano North. Chairmen and vice-chairmen will receive cars, while councillors and secretaries will be presented with motorcycles.
Senator Barau highlighted the importance of empowering grassroots leaders to facilitate effective coordination, outreach, and voter engagement in preparation for the 2027 elections.
“Our chairmen, vice-chairmen, councillors, and secretaries are the engine room of our political structure. Supporting them means strengthening our base. With unity and proper mobilization, Kano North will deliver landslide votes in 2027,” he stated.
He urged party members to overcome past differences and work collaboratively toward shared objectives, stressing that unity is crucial for electoral success.
In a show of solidarity, Hon. Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, representing the Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency, reiterated support for President Tinubu and Governor Abba for a second term, assuring Senator Barau of Kano North’s loyalty and cooperation.
“Even when we were in opposition, we acknowledged your tremendous interventions in Kano North. Now that we are in the same party, we will give you maximum cooperation for the development of our region,” Jobe added.
Representing the local government chairmen, Hon. Jamilu Danbatta of Danbatta Local Government expressed gratitude to the Deputy President of the Senate, acknowledging his transformative leadership and reaffirming support for President Tinubu, Senator Barau, and Governor Abba.
“We will ensure that this combination receives our full support at the polls,” he pledged.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu, Deputy Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, praised Senator Barau’s performance, stating, “Kano North has never had a Senator who has performed as well as Senator Barau. We are proud of him. He has transformed our region.”
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from attendees—including commissioners, national and state assembly members, local government officials, and party stakeholders—to work towards the reelection of President Tinubu, Senator Barau, and Governor Abba.
