2027: We’re going into war – Aisha Yesufu

Human Rights Activist Declares 2027 Elections a “War” for Nigeria’s Future

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has characterized the upcoming 2027 general elections in Nigeria as a battle for the nation’s future.

Yesufu shared her perspective during a live interview on Channels Television on Thursday, which was monitored by DAILY POST. She emphasized that the elections are a critical juncture for Nigeria, stating, “It’s a war; we are fighting for our lives.”

The co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement expressed concern over the current political environment, noting that citizens can no longer accept the status quo. “As we go into 2027, it’s no longer business as usual,” she said.

Yesufu also criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that the party has failed to demonstrate the credibility necessary to lead effectively. “It has always shown itself to behave in an ‘any-howness’ manner,” she remarked.

She concluded by asserting that Nigerians are increasingly disillusioned with the current administration. “We know those challenges are going to come, but we are confident that Nigerians are tired,” she added.

The nation is gearing up for the general elections scheduled for 2027, which many view as pivotal for its political landscape.
