Rapper Lil Durk arrested in South Florida on mu&der-for-hire charges

Popular Chicago rapper Lil Durk has been arrested in South Florida and charged with murder-for-hire.

The rapper whose real name is Durk Banks,  is being held without bond in Broward County Jail.

Lil Durk’s arrest is grounded in an extensive federal investigation that links him to a conspiracy charge around a murder-for-hire scheme.

According to police records, Durk is currently awaiting transfer of custody to U.S. Marshals, signaling that federal authorities are taking over the case.

The arrest comes as a result of the investigation into the murder of Saviay’a Robinson aka Lul Pab, cousin to Quando Rondo, another well-known figure in the rap world. Robinson was killed in Los Angeles in 2022, and authorities allege a network of affiliations within the OTF collective, linking them directly to this act of violence.

The indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles claims that five other Chicago natives  Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston, allegedly tied to OTF, have been arrested alongside Durk.

According to the news outlet, all five men have been indicted on charges including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, committing murder-for-hire involving a death, and use of a machine gun in a violent crime resulting in death.

Prosecutors argue that these individuals were backed by resources allegedly provided by Lil Durk’s collective.

Among the evidence presented are flights and rental car reservations, reportedly paid for with a credit card connected to the OTF label.

The prosecution further alleges that OTF offered “lucrative music opportunities” to anyone who could eliminate Quando Rondo.
