Abducted Nasarawa commissioner regains freedom

Yakubu Lawal, Nasarawa commissioner for information has regained freedom days after being abducted by gunmen.

 

Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa police command spokesperson, confirmed his release on Friday August 19. 

 

It is unclear the amount that was paid in exchange for the commissioner’s release but Daily Trust reported that the kidnappers released Lawal-Addah after collecting an undisclosed ransom.

 

He was freed around 6pm on Friday August 19, and has since been reunited with his family after being taken to the hospital for medical examination.
