Nigerian Passenger Dies on Flight from Istanbul to Lagos
A Nigerian national, Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, passed away aboard an international flight traveling from Istanbul to Lagos in the early hours of Monday, April 27, 2026.
The tragic news was confirmed by Ishola Isiaq, a close associate and Imam with the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, through a post on his verified Facebook page. Isiaq reported that Dahunsi died mid-flight while en route to Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
“I lost a childhood friend, Late Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, this morning on his way back from Istanbul, Turkey, to Murtala Muhammed International Airport. He died inside the flight,” Isiaq wrote. He concluded his message with a prayer, asking for divine acceptance and forgiveness for the deceased.
Details regarding the circumstances of Dahunsi’s death remain unclear, as the Imam did not provide information about the cause or the airline involved.
