Dragons players in late-night ‘heated exchange’

A heated exchange took place between two Dragons players after a night out at the weekend, reports Danny Weidler.

Players enjoyed a pre-scheduled night out in Mudgee after their 42-24 Charity Shield loss to the Rabbitohs on Saturday, before a scuffle broke out at the team hotel at the end of the night.

The Dragons insist there were no punches thrown between the players, but the behaviour, according to the Dragons, does not meet the club’s standards.

The club allowed the players to go out and drink because of the long turnaround between their final pre-season game and round two, with the Dragons set for an opening-round bye.

“The Dragons are aware of a verbal argument that took place between two players at the team hotel on Sunday morning,” a club statement read.

“The club regards this behaviour as unacceptable and will now determine whether any disciplinary action is warranted.

“The club will make no further comment at this time.”
