Husband who survived arson attack that k!lled wife and children d!es in Lagos

The only survivor of a house fire started by arsons at Ita Marun community in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State has d!ed.

Kehinde Oduse, 25, was hospitalised with injuries after he managed to escape the fire that killed his 22-year-old wife and two children, aged 4 and 2 (read here).

Sadly, Kehinde d!ed in the early hours of Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Gbagada General Hospital.

The family-of-four was sleeping in the early hours of Tuesday, November 26, when some yet-to-be-identified individuals entered their premises at about 2 a.m, poured petrol into their room through the open window, and lit them on fire.

The two children d!ed in the house, while the wife, who was found unconscious, holding on to her children after unsuccessfully trying to drag them to safety, d!ed later in the hospital. The husband survived for one week but has now succumbed to his injuries.

Narrating how Kehinde d!ed, his twin sister Taiwo told Punch: “He gave up around 5 am this morning. The doctors did all they could to save him but he did not make it due to the reactions from the burns on his body. Although we were told when we brought him here that it was going to be 50-50, we hoped that he would survive it but unfortunately, he did not.”

It is believed the arson attack is connected to a property dispute.

His bereaved family called for the perpetrators to be fished out and made to face justice
