Micah Richards Calls for Arsenal to Target Julian Alvarez
Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has expressed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should consider signing Atlético Madrid striker Julian Alvarez following the Gunners’ unsuccessful campaign in the UEFA Champions League this season.
On the podcast “The Rest Is Football,” Richards emphasized the need for Arteta to enhance his attacking options for the upcoming season. Despite having players like Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres on the roster, Richards believes that Alvarez could provide a different dynamic to Arsenal’s attack.
“I think they need another striker. Kai Havertz is outstanding in terms of technical ability, and Viktor Gyokeres has done well in his first season,” Richards stated. “But if they could get someone like Julian Alvarez, that would just give Arsenal something different.”
Richards highlighted Alvarez’s credentials, noting that he is considered one of the top strikers in world football and has already secured a World Cup title with Argentina.
