Queen Naomi hospitalised after stampede at event she organised led to her detention

Naomi Silekunola, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife reporteldy collapsed on Friday, Dec. 20, after she was arrested by the police. 

Naomi was arrested after 35 people d!£d in a stampede while struggling to gain entrance to the venue of a free funfair she organised for children in Ibadan. 

Police announced that the organisers of the event have been detained. 

Subsequently,  a popular broadcast journalist in Ibadan, Seun Aribikola, revealed in a Facebook post that Naomi collapsed amid the crisis. 

He said she was immediately rushed to the Police Hospital at Eleyele for medical treatment. 

The broadcast journalist said the ex-queen was taken to the hospital alongside the Chairman of Agidigbo FM, Hamzat. 

The spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, had said in a statement that eight individuals were arrested in connection with the incident.
