At first, because of the nutmeg, mandarin and myrrh, I thought of this as a winter night fragrance – when it’s dark and you’re all wrapped up in your coat with your best dress on, waiting to step into a taxi to take you partying – but I can equally see how this might work for a summer evening, too. It’s sensual, there’s no doubt about that, spicy, voluptuous and velvety and the vanilla is quite strong but it’s a smooth vanilla – no biscuit connotations with this.
I am reminded of Andy Tauer Orange Star – perhaps because of the mandarin but also in personality. Night Star is memorable – a signature fragrance if ever I smelled one and if you love deep fragrances that accessorize rather than assimilate, you will love this. If I had to put an item of clothing to Night Star it would be a richly coloured velvet dress or jumpsuit. Again, a 10ml is available for £22 HERE and I think I’d take that option to be honest in case you imprint this fragrance on all of the above and forget about it for a summer option.
