NSCDC Rescues Two Abandoned Children in Yola
Operatives from the Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have successfully rescued two children, aged one and two, who were allegedly abandoned by their parents.
The children were found at an uncompleted building in the Wuro Hausa area of Yola South Local Government. The NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, reported that the children were discovered crying in the middle of the night after being left alone.
A concerned resident alerted the authorities after observing the situation, prompting a swift response from NSCDC operatives. The children have since been placed in protective custody while efforts to locate their parents are underway.
Baba noted that the state NSCDC commandant, Idris Bande, has instructed officers to intensify efforts in tracing the children’s parents to ensure their safe reunification.
