Super Eagles’ rivals, Guinea-Bissau and Morocco arrive In Côte d’Ivoire

The Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau and Morocco – have arrived early in Côte d’Ivoire ahead of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Both teams will be hoping to stop the Super Eagles of Nigeria from winning the tournament

Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Guinea-Bissau’s arrival on Sunday night, 7 January.

CAF also announced the arrival of Atlas Lions of Morocco landed in Côte d’Ivoire for the AFCON.

The football governing body posted photos of the arrivals of Guinea-Bissau players and officials on their X handle with a caption:” The Djurtus have touched down in Côte d’Ivoire. .”

On Saturday, Guinea-Bissau lost 6-2 to the Eagles of Mali in a final friendly game on Bamako before jetting out to Côte d’Ivoire.

They are in Group A alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Also, the Djurtus will face Côte d’Ivoire in the opening game billed for Saturday, 13 January in Abidjan.

 

The Moroccans are tipped as favourites following their exploits at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and will be looking to land a second continental title since winning the tournament in 1976.
