State Police: It will protect persecuted Nigerian Christians – US Congressman, Moore

U.S. Congressman Commends Nigerian Senate for Passing State Police Bill
U.S. Congressman Riley Moore praised the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday for approving the State Police Bill, a measure aimed at decentralizing law enforcement in the country.
In a statement shared on his verified social media account, Moore expressed belief that the reform will enhance state capabilities in protecting citizens, particularly those facing persecution, including Christians in Nigeria.
The Senate’s approval follows an extensive national debate on the bill, which permits individual states to establish their own police services alongside the existing Nigeria Police Force.
Moore has a history of addressing the plight of Christians in Nigeria, citing ongoing attacks against them. He indicated that the passage of this legislation is a significant step in combatting insecurity in the nation, emphasizing his advocacy for such changes since he began his investigations into violence against Christians.
“The empowerment of states to protect their own citizens is crucial in reducing reliance on federal decision-makers in Abuja,” he stated. “This law is critical to efforts aimed at defending persecuted Christians and addressing broader security issues.”
