Spokesperson of the Command ASP Buhari Abdullahi disclosed this to newsmen while parading the suspects, Hassan Abubakar, 25, and Jibrin Ibrahim, 22, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

According to the PPRO, the suspects were exposed following a fight between them after one of them allegedly had anal sex with the other and refused to pay him N15,000 as agreed.

ASP Abdullahi said the police received a distress call from the ward head of the area at 10:40pm on 11th July, operatives of the Akko division rushed to the scene and arrested the suspects.

He said the aggrieved suspect snatched the phone of his partner for refusing to pay him after sex and as a result, they engaged in a violent fight with machetes which attracted the attention of community members.

“During the course of the investigation, one of the suspects named Jibrin Ibrahim voluntarily stated that Hassan Abubakar promised to give him the sum of N15,000 immediately after they finished the act,” the PPRO said.

The suspects were taken to the hospital for medical attention and thereafter to police custody where they confessed to the crime.

The police spokesperson added that the accused will be charged to the court after completing the ongoing investigation

Speaking with journalists, one of the suspects, Jibrin said he was introduced to homosexuality by Hassan.

“I was arrested on Thursday when Hassan called me and asked me to go to his house. He said he wanted to have a canal knowledge of me and I agreed because he promised to give me N15,000 but he later denied it. So I seized his phone. In the process of trying to get his phone back, he hit me with a machete. That is how we were exposed,” he said.
