Police fire teargas at protesters at Abuja stadium

Security operatives on Saturday dispersed protesters demonstrating in front of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

A high court in Abuja on Wednesday, July 31 issued an order restricting the protesters to the stadium.

The police and the protesters have been at loggerheads over their interpretation of the order. While the police insist the protesters enter the stadium for their protest, the protesters insist they must converge and demonstrate in front of the stadium.

Irked by their disobedience, the security agent this afternoon, fired teargas at them, forcing the protesters to run for safety.
