Singer Chris Martin and actress Dakota Johnson break up, call off engagement after 7 years together

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have reportedly called it quits.

The Coldplay frontman, 47, and the actress, 34, ended their engagement after seven years together, the Daily Mail reported Friday, August 16.

The former couple “have now accepted the relationship is over and it’s best to move on,” a source told the outlet.

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” star has not been with Martin during the European leg of his band’s “Music of the Spheres” tour.

She was pictured in Malibu, California, earlier this month without her engagement ring.

While it is unclear exactly when Martin proposed as Johnson has been wearing the jewellery on her finger since 2020.

Insiders said the pair had been engaged for six years.

The singer began dating Johnson in 2017 following his divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18.
