NABTEB Announces 2025 November/December Examination Results
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) reported that 34,060 candidates achieved five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics, in the 2025 November/December examination results. This information was shared by Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, during a press briefing held in Benin City on February 9, 2026.
Dr. Mohammed noted that this year’s performance reflects 60% of the 61,591 candidates who sat for the examination, a decrease from 67.56% of 29,880 candidates in the previous year.
In total, 54,009 candidates secured five credits and above, with or without English Language and Mathematics, representing 94.74% of candidates. This marks a slight decline from the 95.94% recorded in 2024 when 42,431 candidates achieved similar results.
The recent examination, conducted from November 3 to December 6, 2025, saw significant growth in participation compared to the previous year. The number of registered candidates increased by 28.42%, with a total of 61,591 candidates participating across 2,079 centers, up from 48,825 candidates in 1,825 centers in 2024.
Among the candidates, 34,185 were male, accounting for 55.50%, while 27,406 were female, representing 44.50%. The cohort comprised 57,444 O-level candidates and 4,147 A-level candidates.
The report also highlighted a slight decrease in examination malpractice, with 259 candidates implicated, constituting 0.42% of participants. This figure is a marginal reduction from 0.53%, or 256 candidates, noted in 2024.
Dr. Mohammed emphasized that the prompt release of examination results, completed within 64 days of the last paper and 24 days post-marking, underscores NABTEB’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and credibility in public examinations.
He encouraged candidates to access their results via the NABTEB portal and announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 in-school NBC/NTC certificate examinations.
