2027: Sowore’s AAC writes Tinubu, demands presidential villa for campaign council inauguration

The African Action Congress (AAC) has officially sought approval from President Bola Tinubu to hold the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja. In its request, the party has also asked for logistical support for approximately 5,000 participants.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by National Secretary Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the AAC proposed to conduct the ceremony on November 11, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The party has requested provisions for food, beverages, and additional logistical support for the expected attendees, who will be coming from both Nigeria and abroad. They noted that their request aligns with the support reportedly offered to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar event.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties,” the letter stated, granting this request would reflect the Presidency’s commitment to fairness. It emphasized that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.
The AAC expressed hope for a favorable response and requested details regarding the processes and conditions for securing approval.
The letter was addressed directly to the President and Commander-in-Chief at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
According to Vanguard, Omoyele Sowore is the AAC’s candidate for the 2027 election.
