Bandits kill three in Sokoto community hours after Governor Tambuwal left the area

Three people have been killed by bandits who invaded Kurawa village in Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto state.

The attack reportedly occurred hours after Governor Aminu Tambuwal visited the area on a condolence visit to the families of travellers burnt to death by bandits along Sabon birni-Isa road on Monday December 6.  The Governor announced a donation of N250,000 to each of the families.

Daily Trust however reported that bandits invaded the village around 8pm on Thursday December 9.

A resident told the publication;

“They came during late night prayer, shooting sporadically. They killed three of our people and injured several others who are currently in the hospital.”

This is coming after a nationwide outrage over the gruesome killing of the passengers.
