Councillorship candidate shot de@d in Ogun state

A councilorship candidate, Adeyinka Adeleke, was on Saturday afternoon October 12, shot de@d by yet to be identified men in the Jide Jones area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The victim was said to be the All Progressives Congress Councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 15 in the forthcoming November 16 Local Government elections.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the command, SP Odutola Omolola, said the assailants who are suspected cultists, arrived in an unregistered Toyota Corolla Sport and armed with a pump action shotgun ad a pistol. Omolola said the assailants opened fire on the victim and left him de@d at the scene before taking to their heels.

The deceased was said to have been a transport union worker in the Panseke area of Abeokuta during his lifetime.
