Uju Megafu, the sister to late Chinelo Nwando Megafu, has said she will never forget those who mocked the doctor’s cry for help during the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.

Uju stated this via Twitter on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, when she paid tribute to her sister on the first anniversary of her death in the terrorists’ attack.

No fewer than eight people died while over 60 others were kidnapped when the Kaduna bound train was attacked on March 28, 2023, in the Kateri-Rijana area of the state. The gunmen blew up the rail track after which they launched an attack on the passengers.

Shortly after the attack, the dental surgeon took to Twitter to announce that she was on board and had been shot, calling for prayers from her followers.

“I’m on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me,” her tweet reads.

However, some Twitter users called her a liar, peddling “fake news”.

One quoted the tweet, asking her; “Are you dead yet?”

Another said: ‘Send us photos”

One Sarafina tweeted: You get strength to press phone”

“Exactly a year ago today, my sister sent out a distress tweet asking for prayers as she could feel her strength ebbing away from her because she had just been shot by terrorists on board the Abuja-Kaduna train,” Uju wrote.

“I do not know if she saw the several vile responses from depraved minds that had latched themselves onto her cry for help, as I was not with her to hold her hand & tell her everything will be fine. but, I saw it all. I read everything, I know what you are and I will never forget,”

“To the well wishers who were actually empathetic, thank you for your prayers. It would’ve meant a lot to my sister.”
