Actress Bolaji Ogunmola has expressed her thoughts amid reports suggesting that Netflix might be exiting the Nigerian market. Taking to her social media, Ogunmola highlighted the challenges filmmakers face in relying solely on cinemas for movie releases, describing the move as both expensive and uncertain in terms of returns.
She wrote, “Again… Everyone will be forced to put their films in cinemas… Going to the cinema is crazy expensive and it’s not guaranteed that you will make your money back. People are trying to feed, not necessarily go to the cinemas unless on special occasions.”
Ogunmola also humorously commented on the competitive lineup of movies slated for Nigerian cinemas next year, saying, “Omo, una go watch film for cinema next year tire… the line up??? Crazy!!! God abeg. Why did I come at this time.”
