Nollywood Actress Evans Okoro Responds to HIV Allegations from Colleague

Nollywood actress Evans Okoro has publicly addressed her colleague Ekene Umenwa regarding allegations that she is living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

The controversy surfaced when Okoro’s name reportedly appeared on a list of Nollywood stars that Umenwa allegedly discussed with UK-based Nigerian nurse Adanma Waller. In response, Okoro shared a video on her Instagram account, expressing her disbelief and asking for clarification from Umenwa.

“I saw something on social media today. My name was on a list, and it was said that Evans Okoro is carrying something that people are talking about,” Okoro stated. She questioned Umenwa’s involvement in the claims, asking, “Is that what you said, or is the devil trying to bring me down?”

Okoro added that she had defended Umenwa previously and expressed her anguish over the allegations. “If you said this, may God punish you and your whole generation. But if you did not say this, may God punish those who fabricated this lie because my mother is crying right now,” she remarked.

This incident follows a separate controversy in which actress Destiny Etiko accused Umenwa of claiming that she had physically assaulted her mother.
