‘Afrobeats Is Trash Without Me’ – Orezi

Nigerian musician, Esegine Orezi Allen, popularly known by his stage name Orezi, has declared that Afrobeats music is trash without him.

Naija News understands that the 37-year-old Delta State-born musician said this during an interactive session with Gehn Gehn TV.

Orezi, who has not produced any piece for a few years now, boasted during the interview that he is different from his colleagues in the entertainment industry because he doesn’t follow their rules.

The singer vowed to make a comeback and dominate the Nigerian music industry soon. Describing himself as a lion, the ‘Shoki’ crooner boasted that his next single would be a hit.

“Afrobeats without me are not worth listening to. A lion cannot miss the hunt. On my shoulders, I would carry afrobeats to the next level and I will dominate.

“The difference between me and other artistes is that I am different. I don’t follow rules. Rules are for regular artistes. I am Orezi,” the singer said.

Meanwhile, grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has on Wednesday disclosed that the late Indian rapper Sidhu Moose Wala was his source of inspiration when he was “musically exhausted.”

Burna Boy made this known during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, where he stated that he was working on a joint project with Moose Wala before the rapper was assassinated in May 2022.

Burna Boy said, “I was exhausted musically and i was just like, i need something new.”

He said he discovered Moose Wala’s music through his fans and was immediately drawn to the rapper’s unique sound.

He added that Moose Wala’s music inspired him to experiment with his own sound and to push the boundaries of his music.

He said, “He made me want to be a better artist. Sidhu Moose Wala was one of the biggest inspirations I had at a time when I felt like I’ve already musically done it all. I felt like I’d exhausted myself musically in my head because I was listening to everything, and nothing was making sense to me.

“I felt like I’ve already spoken about everything. I already said everything [in songs]. But Sidhu brought another angle to my musicality. He is a legend. The legend of Punjab. There will never be another one.”
