Army, NSCDC intensify collaboration to tackle insecurity in Katsina

Katsina State Security Agencies Reinforce Collaboration

KATSINA, Nigeria — The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Army reaffirmed their commitment to addressing security challenges in the region during a recent meeting.

Brigade Commander Ishaya Ibrahim of the 17 Brigade made the announcement Friday during a courtesy visit to State Commandant Abbas Moriki at the NSCDC headquarters in Katsina. Ibrahim emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation among security agencies, highlighting the longstanding partnership between the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC.

“The collaboration between our agencies is crucial in tackling insecurity,” Ibrahim said, affirming that his brigade would continue to work closely with the NSCDC to support security efforts across the state.

In response, Commandant Moriki welcomed Ibrahim and reiterated the NSCDC’s readiness to collaborate with the military and other law enforcement bodies to effectively address security concerns.

In a related development, Moriki also received visits from key officials, including Joseph Ochogwu, Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution; Abdulrashid Sule, State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service; and Chinedu Ozugha, Acting Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Katsina Zonal Directorate. The officials collectively underlined the necessity of continued collaboration among various security and law enforcement agencies to enhance state security.

Moriki assured the visiting officials of the NSCDC’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with their respective organizations to improve security and coordination efforts in Katsina.
