Arsenal Enter Carabao Cup Final After Beating Chelsea Twice

Arsenal secured their spot in the Carabao Cup final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the second leg of their semi-final, completing a 4-2 aggregate win over their London rivals. The decisive goal came in the 97th minute from Kai Havertz, punctuating a tense match at the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea maintained a significant share of possession, controlling 55% of the ball compared to Arsenal’s 45%. Despite their dominance in possession, the visitors struggled to translate that into goals, tallying 11 shots but only two on target. Arsenal managed six shots, with two also finding the target. The Gunners’ defense proved resilient, thwarting multiple Chelsea attacks throughout the match.

In terms of set pieces, Chelsea earned five corner kicks compared to Arsenal’s two and delivered a higher number of crosses into the penalty area. However, the home side’s disciplined defending and timely interceptions often disrupted Chelsea’s attacking rhythm.

The match displayed a physical intensity, with Arsenal committing 11 fouls while Chelsea recorded eight. The visitors received three yellow cards, whereas Arsenal had just one, highlighting the competitive nature of the contest as both teams vied for a place in the final.

With this victory, Arsenal will face the winner of the other semi-final between Manchester City and Newcastle United, scheduled for 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4.
