Arsenal To Battle Juventus For Victor Osimhen’s Signature

Victor Osimhen’s Future at Galatasaray Uncertain Amid Interest from Arsenal and Juventus

Istanbul – Victor Osimhen’s tenure at Galatasaray may be short-lived, as Arsenal and Juventus are reportedly monitoring the Nigerian striker’s situation closely. The 27-year-old forward transferred to the Turkish club in a €75 million deal and is under contract until 2029. However, mounting interest from top European clubs has raised questions about his longevity in Turkey.

Sources indicate that Arsenal is focused on Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez as its primary target. Alvarez, who joined Atletico from Manchester City in 2024, is contracted until 2030, making an acquisition challenging both logistically and financially. In this scenario, Osimhen has emerged as a prominent alternative should Arsenal find Alvarez unattainable.

While Galatasaray is said to be hesitant to consider selling Osimhen, a bid in the vicinity of €100 million could prompt discussions, particularly if the striker expresses a desire to return to a top European league. Osimhen is reportedly receptive to a Premier League move, having previously established his reputation in Serie A with Napoli.

Juventus is also keeping tabs on Osimhen’s situation. Reports from Italy suggest that the Turin club views Galatasaray’s investment in Osimhen favorably and may pursue an opportunity if it arises.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk recently commented on the financial implications of Osimhen’s deal. “Galatasaray’s transfer fees and salaries have been increasing since last year. With Osimhen’s transfer fee and salary, you could probably assemble an entire team,” he said. Buruk emphasized the importance of adhering to budgetary constraints while also acknowledging the acquisition of significant players like Singo, Ugurcan, Sane, and Ilkay.

These remarks have reportedly resonated with Juventus, where head coach Luciano Spalletti is keen to rekindle his relationship with Osimhen. The striker played under Spalletti at Napoli, where he was instrumental in securing the club’s first Serie A title in decades.

During his time with Napoli, Osimhen enjoyed a standout season, netting 26 league goals and earning the Golden Boot. As Juventus contemplates a potential attacking overhaul, particularly with uncertainty surrounding Dusan Vlahovic’s future, Osimhen is viewed as a key signing for a new era in Turin.

On the field, Osimhen continues to make a strong case for his value, having scored 14 goals and provided one assist in 20 appearances for Galatasaray across all competitions. Additionally, he shined at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Nigeria, scoring four goals and assisting twice in six matches, and was named to the Team of the Tournament as the national team secured a bronze medal.
