Asake Becomes Most-Streamed Artist on Spotify Nigeria
Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has been recognized as the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria. This milestone was announced by the streaming platform as part of its fifth anniversary celebrations in the country.
In the updated rankings, Asake is followed by prominent artists Wizkid and Seyi Vibez, who hold the second and third spots, respectively. Burna Boy is in fourth place, while Davido rounds out the top five.
Additionally, Spotify revealed the list of the most-streamed songs on its Nigerian platform. Asake’s track “Remember” secured the top position, while “Dealer” by Ayo Maff and Fireboy, along with Fido’s “Awolowo,” Wizkid’s “Kese,” and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” took the second through fifth spots.
The dominance of Nigerian music was also evident on Spotify Kenya, where Ruger’s “Asiwaju” claimed the top spot. Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” Fireboy’s “Bandana,” and Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” occupied the second, third, and fifth positions, respectively. Kenyan artist Bein’s song “Inauma” ranked fourth.
In Ghana, Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck’s collaboration with Ghanaian artist Black Sherif, titled “Wotowoto Seasoning,” topped the list of most-streamed songs. Asake’s “Lonely At The Top” ranked second, while three additional tracks by Black Sherif secured the third, fourth, and fifth positions.
