Ayatollah Khamenei’s death: Gumi is crying – Adeyanju

Activist Lawyer Criticizes Islamic Scholar Following Death of Iranian Leader
Deji Adeyanju, a prominent activist lawyer, has publicly criticized Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic scholar, in the wake of the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Khamenei, 86, was reportedly killed on Saturday during airstrikes conducted by Israel and the United States as part of a large-scale military operation in Tehran.
In response to Khamenei’s death, Gumi referred to the late leader as “a lucky soul” who “died in jihad,” claiming that he stood against the “killers of innocent children and women” in Gaza and other regions. Gumi suggested that Khamenei’s death would ignite change within the Islamic community, citing the leader’s commitment to justice.
Adeyanju, however, took to social media platform X to deride Gumi and others he described as “terrorist sympathizers,” stating that they are mourning the loss of “the demon of Iran.” He questioned the effectiveness of Iran’s air defenses, noting that the U.S. had announced its intention to conduct attacks yet seemingly faced little resistance in executing those operations.
“The ease with which the U.S. and Israel carried out this operation raises concerns about Iran’s military capabilities,” Adeyanju remarked. He pointedly questioned how such actions could occur against a nation that often asserts its strength on the global stage.
The situation continues to unfold as responses from various figures across the international landscape emerge.
