Armed Bandits Abduct Two in Kwara State Community
In the early hours of Saturday, armed assailants invaded the Ndeji community in the Lafiagi Emirate of Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, abducting two individuals.
The victims have been identified as the wife and son of Alhaji Abass, a well-known businessman in the area who is commonly referred to as Daniyan Saba. This incident echoes a previous kidnapping, as Alhaji Abass was abducted along with his petrol filling station manager last year. Both were eventually released after a ransom was paid.
Local sources informed NupekoTv-Lafiagi that the attackers struck at dawn, creating a climate of fear among residents before taking the victims to an undisclosed location.
This latest incident has heightened security concerns in the region, where cases of kidnapping and violent crime have become increasingly common, particularly in the Lafiagi Emirate and surrounding areas of the Kwara North Senatorial District.
As of this report, security agencies have not issued any official statements regarding the abduction. Meanwhile, community members are urging the government and security forces to enhance protective measures in the area and work towards the safe return of the abducted individuals.
Residents continue to express their distress over the growing insecurity, calling for immediate action to address the threats to their safety.
