Bandits attack LG in Katsina, kill two, injure six despite peace deal

At least two people were killed and six others injured during an armed attack by bandits on the Unguwar Na Ma’u community in Kakumi Ward, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State. The incident, which occurred recently, also involved the reported rustling of a significant number of cattle and other livestock.
Security analyst Bakatsine raised concerns about the implications of the attack, noting that it occurred despite a peace agreement established between local authorities and bandits just weeks prior. “This latest attack raises serious concerns about the effectiveness and credibility of the peace deal,” Bakatsine said. “If such violence can still take place after an agreement was reached, what does this mean for the safety of residents?”
As of now, neither the Katsina State Police Command nor the state government has issued a formal statement regarding the attack.
