ALKaleri, Bauchi State — A violent attack by suspected bandits occurred late Friday night in the Pali community of Alkaleri Local Government Area, resulting in the death of a local vigilante member and the abduction of two children.
Security analyst Bakastine reported the incident on social media, detailing the assault that took place around 10:30 p.m. Local sources indicated that the assailants opened fire upon entering the community, killing Yusuf Momo, a vigilante known as Dan Banga Pali. The attackers also took two children belonging to Alhaji Manu Pali and looted various goods from residents.
The assault has left the community shaken, with many residents expressing concern for the safety of the abducted children and urging security forces to enhance measures aimed at preventing further bandit attacks in the area.
A distress call for security assistance was reportedly made shortly following the violence. As the investigation continues, local authorities are under pressure to address the escalating threats faced by communities in the region.
