Practice for the Bathurst 12 Hour was cut short on Friday afternoon after a mammoth crash for an Aussie motorsport veteran.
Driving a MARC II V8, Keith Kassulke appeared to suffer a failure of some kind at the entry to The Chase – the fastest corner in Australian motorsport.
Kassulke went straight on at the left-hander, before being launched into the air by the inside kerb.

The car then flew through the air and made heavy contact with the outside tyre wall, coming to rest upside down.
With no television broadcast on Friday, the accident was captured on the Mount Panorama circuit’s CCTV system. The track is a public road outside race weekends.
A statement issued by race organisers confirmed Kassulke was taken to the circuit’s medical centre.
“Keith was conscious throughout, communicating with the recovery teams and suffered no major injuries,” it read.
“Further information will follow when available.
“The session was red flagged and was not restarted due to the damage caused to the tyre wall following the impact.
“At this stage the cause of the accident has not been determined.”
The car is not expected to run again this weekend.
Earlier in the day, MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi was fastest in Practice 2 on his first visit to the 6.2km circuit.
Rossi took his BMW M4 around the mountain in 2:05.44 to be less then a tenth quicker than Brad Schumacher’s Audi R8.
