Are you a gym newbie or workout beginner, aiming to be like the gym rats you see around?

Beginning an exercise routine is a daunting task and be sure to note that it hurts too. But having to be sweating and running short of breath among the Gym maestros can be really intimidating too.

No need to stress, we have compiled all the tips you need to know to workout the right way as a beginner.

Humble Beginnings

This is very crucial to note on this journey. The instructor and others around you that you look at like gods because they seem effortless in their workout routine, all started like you. So be realistic in your approach and this will help to motivate you along the way.

Slow and Steady

Have in mind that you are in no competition with anyone. It is you yourself and you; you are not up against anyone. Be consistent and stay true to your programme, avoid frequent stops and stars. They say “slow and steady wins the race” so then, thrive on the famous phrase. Everyone has their level of tolerance and endurance in the gym or while working out as a beginner, you need time to build yourself to where you aim to be at. Setting feasible goals will help with that.

Create a schedule

As a beginner to healthy living trying to  incorporate workout sessions into your routine, coming up with a schedule will be a great start to motivate yourself. Again, be realistic in your thought process because as a beginner who wants to head out everyday to the gym, you might just be burnt out before you know it. Beginning with 2-3 days a week and for 30minutes or however your endurance level gets you. Over time you become stronger, even better than the gym rats you once used to admire.

Do what suits you best don’t be pressured

Despite wanting to look your best, listen to your body. It is good to push yourself to a higher threshold of endurance, but know when to draw the line.

Accept Feeling Of Discomfort

When you first start exercising you will experience discomfort  like you are about to pass out. Such as shortness of breath, sweating and aching muscles after exercising. Be patient, it is part of the process that is completely normal and everyone feels like this when they first start out.
