Benue: Police confirm abduction of nine worshippers during night vigil

Nine Church Members Abducted in Benue State
The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of nine members of a church in the Ojije community of Utonkon, located in the Ado Local Government Area.
In a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Makurdi, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Edet Udeme reported that the incident occurred during a night vigil at St. John’s Catholic Church.
Udeme stated that the assailants seized the worshippers while they were engaged in prayer. In response, the Commissioner of Police has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical units to the area to ensure the safe return of the victims.
She assured the public of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, emphasizing that security measures are being implemented throughout Benue State.
