Boko Haram ambush vigilantes in Borno, one CJTF member killed

Suspected Boko Haram Attack Claims Life of Vigilante Member in Borno State
A member of a local vigilante group was killed on Tuesday morning during an ambush by suspected Boko Haram militants along the Warave-Gwoza Road in Borno State. The attack occurred around 7:30 a.m. as members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters conducted routine patrols in the area.
Security sources indicated that the insurgents opened fire on the patrol, resulting in fatal injuries to 50-year-old Bello Adamu, a CJTF operative. He was transported to the General Hospital in Gwoza, where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival. Following Islamic customs, his remains were handed over to his family for burial.
In response to the attack, troops from Operation HADIN KAI have been deployed to the vicinity to enhance security. Authorities have increased patrols and surveillance along the Warave-Gwoza corridor to prevent further incidents and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
As of this reporting, military officials have not issued a formal statement regarding the incident.
