Insurgents Attack Military Camp in Adamawa, Killing Soldiers and Civilian

HONG, Adamawa State — Suspected Boko Haram militants attacked a military camp in the Garaha District of the Hong Local Government Area on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three soldiers and a civilian woman.

The assault, which took place in the late morning, also led to the destruction of a primary school and other crucial infrastructure. This incident is part of a troubling trend, as recent months have seen a series of similar attacks in the Hong LGA.

Eyewitness Isaiah Yerima reported that the attackers struck unexpectedly, catching military personnel off guard. Although the soldiers attempted to mount a defense, the assailants gained the upper hand, ultimately setting the military camp ablaze.

Yerima noted that the insurgents ambushed the soldiers from behind while advancing through the Lar axis. A civilian woman was fatally injured by a stray bullet during the chaos as she attempted to flee.

Neither military nor police officials have commented on the attack. However, Hong Local Government chairman Usman Aliyu Wa’aganda and the Hong paramount ruler Tol Alheri Nyako both confirmed the incident.
