Up to now, I haven’t had a lot of interaction with Boohoo but their acquisition of Debenhams and Debenhams beauty means they’re much more on my radar. The calendar goes on sale at 7pm tonight so you won’t find it until then.

Let me start by saying that this calendar is HUGE! And, there’s something quite sweet about it in that the contents are really tipped to a certain age demographic and so it lacks the ‘seriousness’ of other calendars. It’s just fun and nothing wrong with that.

The contents are very varied – unpredictable actually, which is refreshing – so one day you can be opening up a door to a face mask and the next a pot of coconut tooth cleaner or some hair clips. We’re not talking premium brands here – it’s all affordable product so won’t break the bank to repurchase or size up. Think Sleek, Garnier and Barry M … high street and proud of it.

I guess you could say that the Boohoo Beauty Advent calendar is a discovery playground that won’t lead to a pricy beauty habit! I’d give this to my niece in a heartbeat and know that she would absolutely love it. It’s good value too at £50 with £140 worth of product. There’s no focus really on ‘concerns’ which beauty brands target at the earliest opportunity they can usually – the calendar is just full of all the things you probably want to try as a teen such as self-tan, Tik Tok favourite charcoal toothpaste, fizzy bath cubes and big false lashes.
