While Major League Baseball teams are rolling out a slew of moves, the New York Yankees have only made one. A trade for Josh Donaldson is all they’ve done so far, as they seem to be largely standing pat. That doesn’t sit well with lifelong Yankees fan Brandon Tierney who took to the air to blast his beloved Bronx Bombers on Tuesday.
Tierney badly wanted the Yankees to land Matt Olson — who wound up with the Atlanta Braves — and can’t believe general manager Brian Cashman isn’t being more aggressive. New York has money to burn but doesn’t seem willing to spend to improve. The Yankees are in on Freddie Freeman, but so are the Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres.
Tierney went off on Cashman, claiming if Freeman were allowed to go elsewhere in the division and the Yankees don’t improve this season, it’s time for a new GM in New York.

It got so bad, Tierney was sweating. And he’s got a point. The Yankees are in a really tough AL East that is only getting better and they haven’t seemed to be interested in adding payroll. They have tons of money and seem not to want to spend.
