Brentford vs Tottenham Ends In A 2-2 Draw

Tottenham Hotspur took on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium earlier on Monday as they resumed their Premier League campaign after the World Cup break.

From the start of the game, Tottenham Hotspur led by coach Antonio Conte looked more determined to win the match, but it was the host, Brentford, that took the lead in the 15th minute through German midfielder, Vitaly Janelt.

The lone goal gave Brentford the lead throughout the first 45 minutes. In the second half, the host remained very disciplined in defense and also very effective up front.

Brentford’s effectiveness paid off big time when Ivan Toney doubled the lead of the host in the 54th minute.

Over eleven minutes later, Harry Kane started a fight back by getting a goal back for his team in the 65th minute. In the 71st minute, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg got the equalizer for Tottenham Hotspur.

In the 90 minutes of action, Tottenham Hotspur garnered 61 percent of the ball possession while Brentford made do with 39 percent of the ball possession.

Throughout the game, Spurs recorded 16 shots, and 8 of the shots were on target while Brentford recorded 9 shots, 5 of which were on target.

After the 2-2 draw, Tottenham Hotspur are left in the 4th spot with 30 points in 16 games while Brentford are left in the 10th spot with 20 points in 16 games.
