‘Bring Back Our Worldly Davido’- Reactions As Davido Turns ‘Gospel Singer’

A video of Nigerian Afrobeat star, David Adeleke better known as Davido featuring in a gospel song  has sparked reactions on social media.

Davido In the single titled ‘Thankful’, detoured from his main Afropop terrain, delving into a character, delivering a piercing first verse and hook, enriched with praise poetry in his mother tongue.

The song’s general theme encourages approaching God with an attitude of Gratitude, which unusually genre for an artist like Davido.

However, the song was greeted with a lot reactions as social media users revealed they preferred the Davido who sings ‘worldly songs’ and not gospel songs.

Reacting to the song, one Instagram users, prettylisa_007 wrote; ‘I know Davido was tempted to shout “shekpe”

Another wrote; preshyb__ wrote; ‘Bring back our worldly Davido.’

jules_adore wrote; ‘It’s different. God can use anybody to win souls’

Naija News reports music star, Davido clocked a new age and celebrated with friends and some of his staff members making the day a memorable one for him.

Recall that Davido had decided to give the money donated to him by his friends and fans to orphanages.

A five-man disbursement committee was set up to select the orphanages and charity organizations to receive the funds.
