Byredo Astronomical Mascara | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There have been a few changes at Byredo Beauty – incoming is Lucia Pica, formerly creative director of CHANEL beauty and outgoing is Isamaya Ffrench, who has captained the ship thus far.

Byredo Mascara

Astronomical is described as volumising, curling and thickening although I find it more of a lengthening and enhancing mascara. I can’t remember having such good separation and weightlessness – it’s the sort of fanning with no clumping that makes you do a double take. You do need to build it up if you want dramatic impact – maybe three to four coats but it’s worth it for the extra length without chunkiness.

Byredo Mascara

There’s one shade of Byredo Astronomical mascara – black – and at one or two coats, it’s not too stark and dramatic. I was happy at three coats for a more intense look – it’s quite a wet mascara so the build is even and natural (ish) looking and yet is still as weightless as it’s possible for a mascara to be. I’m really not sure if the curve in the handle makes any difference ergonomically but you certainly won’t lose that neon green amongst the sea of black tubes. It’s for the luxury market so it’s £37 HERE. It’s also described as ‘sweat-proof’ and I spent the weekend lugging soil in the garden on Saturday and it was still pristine (although I wasn’t!).
