Civil Defence Day: NSCDC calls for professionalism in Niger

Niger State NSCDC Urges Officers to Maintain High Standards of Professionalism

Minna, Niger State — The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has called on its officers to embody professionalism and dedication in their roles of protecting lives, property, and vital national assets.

State Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye made the announcement during the observance of World Civil Defence Day at the Corps’ headquarters in the Three Arms Zone. Speaking through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Abubakar Mohamed Rabiu Muti, Aniviye noted that the day is typically marked by extensive activities under the auspices of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO).

This year, however, he indicated that the commemoration was conducted on a more subdued scale due to the recent passing of officers during the transition ceremony for Corps Commandant-General Abubakar Ahmed Audi. Aniviye emphasized that the occasion served as a moment for reflection, gratitude for divine mercy, and a recommitment to national service.

The Commandant assured that the sacrifices of fallen officers would always be remembered and honored.

The event also included a joint interfaith prayer session attended by senior management and officers, a quarter guard inspection, and a parade display by mounted officers, highlighting the Corps’ commitment to discipline and readiness in fulfilling its statutory duties.
