Compose yourselves, ‘Taylor Lautner is open to playing Jacob Black again’ – Twilight fans

Taylor Lautner has admitted he’d be open to playing Jacob Black again… and our inner teen Twilight fan girl is going crazy right now.

In 2008, the actor was first introduced as the shape shifting character in the fantasy film franchise, with fans frequently pitting him against Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen as the werewolf and vampire battled it out to win the affections of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).

Taylor’s last outing as Jacob came a decade ago, when the final film – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 – was released.

However, it appears the now-30-year-old is willing to keep the door open should an opportunity to reprise the role comes up.

When asked if he’d ever return to the role, Taylor told E! News: ‘He’s a good character that is easy to love, so I would never say no to that. Because it’s Jacob Black. He’s a lovable guy.’

He added that he imagined 10 years after the end of Breaking Dawn Part 2 that Jacob could be living ‘happy ever after with Renesmee’, the daughter of Bella and Edward who Jacob imprinted on in the movies, a plot point that many fans found ‘creepy’.

(Just as a reminder, it was explained that when Jacob first imprinted on Renesmee, he would be seen as a brother figure to her, until she grew up and then they might form a romantic relationship as they’re supposedly soulmates… but fans are still rightfully weirded out by the whole scenario).

While Taylor sounds up for bringing Jacob back, there’s one element of the character that he’s happy to leave behind, after enduring a gruelling training routine to bulk up for his performance.

‘I think that was great for the role but I would prefer just to be trim and healthy, you know? Definitely not a Jacob Black body,’ he stated.

In November last year, the Scream Queens star proposed to his partner Taylor Dome, having been together since 2018.

With the couple preparing to walk down the aisle together in the coming months, many fans recently realized that when they marry, they’ll both be called Taylor Lautner… much to their amusement.

Speaking about the hilarity of the name change, Taylor said: ‘We already share one name. This is going to be extra complicated! We’re literally going to be the same person!’ before jokingly adding: ‘I’m a narcissist.’

He added that while he’s known as Taylor, his fiancé is known as ‘Tay’… which makes things slightly more simple.
