COVID-19: Lagos Govt extends work-from-home order to Feb. 1


Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave the directive in a round signed by the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, in Lagos on Saturday.

The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) studies that the round was issued to members of the State Government Council and all heads of Ministries, Departments and Businesses.

Sanwo-Olu stated that the extension was to curtail the unfold of the second wave of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic within the state.

He, nevertheless, stated that the directive would exclude important obligation staff, in addition to first responders.

He enjoined all public servants to remain secure and maintain adhering to all COVID-19 protocols, to be able to rid the state of the pandemic within the shortest potential time.

“Moreover, accounting officers are to make sure strict compliance with all extant directives aimed to ensure bodily/social distancing within the work place; by weekly preparation of Responsibility Rosters as thought of germane to the efficient service supply of respective Ministries, Departments and Businesses.

“All Heads of Ministries, Departments and Businesses are urged to look at the contents of this Round for acquiescence and provides it the deserved service-wide publicity,” he stated.
