DeSantis ‘Jabs’ Biden, Signs Anti-Vaccine Mandate Bills In Brandon, Florida

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis showed he can troll with the best as he signed several anti-COVID-19 vaccine mandate measures into law on Thursday in of all places, Brandon, Florida.

Better yet, he signed the bills at Brandon Honda, in Brandon, Florida.

The funny jab at Biden is in reference to the viral “Let’s Go Brandon” chant, a euphemism for “F*** Joe Biden.”

The bills require employers to allow vaccine exemptions for religious reasons, pregnancy or anticipated pregnancy, and natural immunity.

The Roots Of ‘Brandon’

NBC Sports reporter Kelly Stavast no doubt wishes that she were famous for many other things, but it’s her nonsensical attempt at covering up a NASCAR crowd’s chant of “F*** Joe Biden,” and turning it into “Let’s Go Brandon” that set off the nationwide craze.

The chant, aimed at voicing displeasure at President Joe Biden, has taken off and can be seen and heard everywhere, including the bill signing ceremony with Gov. DeSantis in Brandon Florida.

DeSantis himself even got in on the fun earlier this month when he called the Biden administration the “Brandon” administration. Press Secretary for the Gov., Christina Pushaw, said of the signing, “The significance of signing this legislation in Brandon, Florida, is not lost on the governor.”

As Usual Democrats Are Outraged

The bill signing was the culmination of a three day special session of the Florida Legislature. As expected, Democrats were not pleased.

House Minority C0-Leader Evan Jenne D-Dania Beach called it “political theater,” and said that it was designed to boost DeSantis’ political ambitions.

Jenne had a more graphic description for DeSantis’ dig at Biden,

“This is political theater. This is not about helping anyone. This is not about guaranteeing anyone’s freedoms. This is not about governmental policy. This is about two men having a measuring contest that they should have in private, and instead, they’re letting it spill out in front of full public view.”

No Floridian is going to be able to be fired over these jabs.

DeSantis’ Jab Just The Latest

The Brandon, Florida bill signing is just the latest in the back and forth between DeSantis and Biden. DeSantis has so far been able to work around everything the Biden administration has thrown at him.

DeSantis has threatened to fly illegal immigrants to Biden’s home state of Delaware after it was revealed that the administration was flying planes full of people to Florida.

Florida is also one of a handful of states who have sued the Biden administration over federal vaccine mandates.

Gov. DeSantis also appeared to send a message to Joe Biden when he offered up Florida’s ports to ease supply chain issues as hundreds of cargo ships wait to be unloaded off the coast of California. 

Maybe Ron DeSantis will make future announcements in places like Brandon, Iowa and Brandon, Mississippi.
