:’Don’t provoke superpower’ – Linc Edochie warns Northern youths over Iran solidarity protest

Nigerian Actor Linc Edochie Urges Caution Amid Northern Protests
LAGOS, Nigeria—Prominent Nigerian actor Linc Edochie has issued a warning to residents of northern Nigeria regarding the potential consequences of provoking superpower nations. His comments follow recent protests by northern youths in response to the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed on February 28, 2026, in a joint airstrike carried out by Israel and the United States.
The situation intensified after Iran conducted retaliatory strikes against Israeli and U.S. assets in various Middle Eastern countries. In solidarity with the conflict, pro-Iran demonstrations have emerged in several northern states of Nigeria.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, Edochie cautioned participants in the protests, urging them to refrain from actions that could attract the attention of powerful nations. He emphasized that Nigeria would not be able to withstand the repercussions of such provocations.
“This may not be our direct concern, but what is happening globally deserves our attention. It is crucial we take this matter to God in prayers,” Edochie stated. “I’m sorry to say this: a third world war has formally begun.”
Edochie highlighted that while the nature of this conflict may differ from traditional warfare, its potential impact could be catastrophic. He implored the protesters, saying, “You don’t want to provoke a superpower. If we draw their attention toward us, we’re in trouble. Let us respect ourselves and manage our issues appropriately.”
His remarks come amid increasing tension in the region and underscore the complex interplay of local and international politics.
