President of Democratic Republic of Congo Football Federation Sentenced to Life for Financial Crimes

Jean-Guy Blaise Mayolas, president of the Democratic Republic of Congo Football Federation (FECOFA), has received a life sentence after being convicted of multiple financial offenses. The ruling stems from an extensive eight-month investigation into allegations of corruption and misconduct within the nation’s football governing body.

A court found Mayolas guilty of charges that included money laundering, embezzlement, forgery, and the use of falsified documents. The ruling was delivered in his absence, underscoring the gravity of the allegations.
