Dr. Dre accuses ex-psychiatrist of maliciously turning his son against him

Dr Dre is hitting back at his former psychiatrist, Dr Charles Sophy, following a lawsuit filed by the doctor, who claims the music mogul threatened him after attempting to mediate Dre’s contentious divorce from his estranged wife, Nicole Young.

In a legal letter obtained by TMZ, Dre’s attorney, Howard King, accuses Dr Sophy of malpractice and breaching his duty of trust. The letter, originally sent in February 2023, alleges that Sophy maliciously attempted to “slander” Dre and poison his relationship with his son, encouraging the child to turn against his father during Dre’s divorce proceedings.

King claims Dr Sophy, who was working with Dre and Nicole to mediate their divorce, took steps to help Nicole gain an upper hand in the legal battle by driving a wedge between Dre and his son. This, King asserts, caused severe damage to their relationship.

The legal back-and-forth comes after Dr Sophy filed a $10 million lawsuit against Dre, accusing him of sending abusive and threatening messages in retaliation for Sophy’s involvement in the divorce process.

While Dr. Sophy claims to be the victim in the situation, Dre’s legal team is standing firm in their accusations of professional misconduct. The battle between the two is now playing out in court as both sides continue to assert their claims.
